Participants: UNIX users who already have experience with vi and use it intensively, so that greater ease and efficiency with the editor is desirable. |
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Edit documents with greater ease and efficiency, using commands designed for the type of documents that you are editing. |
Overview: This course introduces the full vi command set of nearly 200 commands and options. |
Prerequisites: Minimum familiarity with UNIX: how to login; commands such as cd, ls, rm, cat. Previous attendance at an introductory course on UNIX is recommended. |
Format: Lecture and discussion (50%) with hands-on exercises (50%). |
