File-AID MVS
Duration: 3 days |
Participants: Programmers and operations personnel and others responsible for maintenance of data files, and analysis of global data changes. |
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Use the powerful File-AID comparison, viewing, updating and printing tools and contrast File-AID with traditional ISPF. - Edit and Browse data using a variety of formatted viewing and selection techniques. - Create test beds of data. - Analyze programs for global modifications. - Run online and batch File-AID requests. - Create, manipulate, and alter VSAM clusters and data. (Optional) - Describe the latest enhancements to File-AID MVS. |
Overview:
- File-AID is an interactive product that enhances programmer productivity in file handling and record maintenance. This course presents the many features and functions of File-AID that will enhance programmer and user productivity. The File-AID analysis facilities are explored and extended to general analysis of any global maintenance change in program and data. - This course focuses on File-AID running under TSO and batch File-AID MVS. For File-AID for DB2 or File-AID for IMS, please ask about our one-day follow-up courses.. |
Prerequisites: A strong knowledge of TSO/ISPF and MVS data storage is recommended, as well as a working knowledge of basic JCL. |
Format: Lecture and discussion with extensive hands-on exercises. |
